Residential & Light Commercial Experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish & maintain a positive relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers through effective oral and written communication skills via phone, computer, and face to face.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing and repairing equipment.
  • Responds to service calls, drive to site, greet customer, performs preventive maintenance and/or troubleshoots malfunctioning systems/equipment to determine the nature of the problem(s).
  • Perform and sale (ESA) preventive maintenance on equipment to prevent equipment failure.
  • Repairs, replaces and adjusts vents and duct work.
  • Responsible for promoting our line of HVAC product (parts & supplies equipment) to increase sales as well as increase market penetration.
  • Responsible for promoting sales of HVAC replacement components to our customers.
  • Diagnosing causes of equipment breakdowns, testing parts with appropriate instruments, disassembling and assembling parts, and making necessary repairs.
  • Explain and obtain customer approval for service charges and work performed to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Perform repairs of complete systems to include repairing, calibration or replacing controls, switches, thermostats, gauges, wiring fans, pumps, compressors, condenser, furnace, relays, sequencers, ignitors, driers, transformers, piping, all types of motors, and other functional components of the system.
  • Check condensation drain line so that it is free of debris and draining properly. Treat and/or clear clogged drain lines.
  • Order with a purchase order number and pick-up part(s) from vendor as needed.
  • Perform inspections and site surveys, and service requests including replacement, and modifications of equipment or systems as needed or requested by customer. 
  • Contact supervisor or dispatcher to discuss any problems on the job. Communicate call completion or order any parts that may be necessary.
  • Maintain and fuel the vehicle and stock the service truck with adequate parts.
  • Transport materials and tools to the job site when needed.
  • Complete and reconcile work order documents, payments collections, vendor packing slips, fuel receipts, and weekly timesheets for the office on daily/weekly basis.
  • Provide product usage information to the customer for proper operation and preventive maintenance.
  • Test repairs and installation by starting unit and checking pressures with gauges to ensure proper operation.
  • Ensure that all HVAC repairs and installations are accurate, serviceable and that materials used and workmanship meet the requirements of the customer and company.

 


Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in residential/light commercial HVAC.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
  • Valid Driver’s License with no major traffic violations, suspensions, or DUI’s in previous 5 years.
  • Must have valid Social Security Card.
  • Must have current TDLR state HVAC registration certification, and EPA certification card.
  • NATE certification a plus, but not required.
  • Refrigeration and installation experience is a plus, but not required.
  • This position is physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. Must be able to lift up to 75 – 100lbs repeatedly if necessary.
  • Must agree to a drug test and background check.
  • Participates in the technician on-call stand-by rotation on after hours, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Willing and able to consistently work the schedule required by seasonal job demands.
  • Ability to tolerate extreme environmental conditions consisting of extreme heat and cold.
  • Must have own tools

Residential Change Outs / Residential New Construction

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in the HVAC field required.
  • A High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Must be able to do rooftops units, roof curbs, split systems and duct insulation.
  • Must be able to install metal duct, round duct, rectangular duct, and flex duct.
  • Must be able to install rooftop units, roof curbs, split systems, and duct insulation.
  • Must be able to install spiral pipe, round pipe, freon lines and drain lines.
  • Must be able to remove and install all types of Heating and Air Conditioning ventilation and equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 100lbs.
  • Ability to tolerate extreme environmental conditions consisting of extreme heat and cold.
  • Ability to work long hours (both weekend and evening) as needed.
  • Proficient in all HVAC functional design and installation of ductwork systems.
  • Understand and apply all codes for commercial and residential.
  • Welding experience a plus.
  • Able to lift up to 100lbs.
  • Excellent customer relations skills and an open mind to think outside of the box
  • Exceptional safety knowledge of tools, testing devices and surroundings.
  • Arrive on time daily.
  • Have a great work attitude.
  • Have a neat, clean appearance.
  • Have strong organizational skills.
  • Must have current EPA certification card.
  • Must have own tools
  • Must have valid Social Security Card.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Welding experience a plus.
  • Willingness to learn new things.
  • Willingness to work hard and make sure that the job is done right.
